Job summary

Larsen & Toubro seeks a dedicated piping inspector for offshore installations. The role ensures inspections of piping root passes, welds, repairs, and fabrication activities align with approved drawings and QA/QC requirements. You will verify WPS/PQR compliance and coordinate NDT services.

Responsibilities include witnessing fit-up, joint prep, welding parameters, and recording traceable weld documentation, ensuring RTR welds are properly identified and closed.

Qualifications

• Experience in piping inspection and quality control for offshore installations.
• Ability to verify compliance with drawings, codes, and project specifications.
• Familiarity with welding parameters, NDT coordination, and documentation.
• Knowledge of IFD/IFR/ISO and related QA/QC practices.

Purpose of the Role

To inspect and ensure that piping fabrication, welding, repairs, and tie?in activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, standards, and project quality requirements for offshore installations.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Quality Control

• Perform inspection of piping root pass, tie?in welds, repairs, and fabrication activities at the yard.
• Verify compliance with approved drawings (IFD/IFR/ISO), WPS, ITP, QCP, and project specifications.
• Witness and monitor fit?up, alignment, joint preparation, welding parameters, and consumable control.
• Ensure RTR welds are correctly identified, recorded, and traceable.

Welding & NDT Coordination

• Check welder qualifications (WPQ) and ensure validity for applicable weld processes.
• Ensure welding is carried out as per approved WPS/PQR.
• Coordinate and witness NDT activities (RT, UT, MT, PT) for RTR welds.
• Review and accept NDT reports and ensure proper closure of NCRs.
