The Pastry Chef is responsible for leading the pastry section of the kitchen and ensuring the consistent preparation and presentation of high-quality desserts, baked goods, and pastries. This role involves menu development, team supervision, inventory management, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and culinary excellence in the hotel’s food & beverage operations.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
  • Oversee the preparation, baking, and presentation of all desserts, pastries, bread, and other baked items.
  • Develop and update dessert and pastry menus in collaboration with the Executive Chef.
  • Innovate and introduce seasonal or signature pastry offerings aligned with guest expectations and brand identity.
  • Supervise and train pastry team members, ensuring proper techniques and food safety standards.
  • Monitor and maintain quality, portion control, and consistency of all pastry items.
  • Manage pastry kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies, checking deliveries, and controlling waste.
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and compliance with hygiene and sanitation regulations (e.g., HACCP).
  • Coordinate with other kitchen sections for smooth operation and service delivery.
  • Cater to special requests (e.g., gluten-free, vegan, or custom cakes) while maintaining creativity and quality.
  • Stay current with industry trends, techniques, and presentation styles.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Patisserie, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in pastry preparation, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of baking, chocolate work, sugar art, plated desserts, and pastry kitchen operations.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a high-volume environment.
  • Creative flair with a keen eye for detail and presentation.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and kitchen hygiene protocols.
