Job description

Established in 1972, GAC Oman is one of the country’s leading shipping and logistics agents. We provide a comprehensive portfolio of professional shipping and logistics services nationwide and operate at the ports of Muscat, Salalah, Sohar, Sur, Khasab, and Duqm.

GAC Oman is looking for candidates for the role of Operations Coordinator in our Shipping Department. Could it be you?

Job Responsibilities
  1. Ensure timely, accurate, and effective management of services and supplies to vessels as required by owners.
  2. Coordinate effectively with port operations staff to ensure smooth delivery of services and handling of vessel operations.
  3. Communicate with principals effectively and provide timely, accurate reports to assist in future voyage planning.
  4. Organise and maintain ship files methodically and ensure all records are up-to-date for easy reference.
  5. Input port call data accurately and timely into the GAC agent shipping system to ensure real-time, up-to-date information.
  6. Uphold GAC Code of Ethics, display GAC Spirit, and act in the best interests of GAC in Oman and beyond as a role model.
  7. Perform any other duties requested or delegated by the manager to maintain service levels.
Job Requirements
  • 1-2 years of qualified experience in shipping operations or a similar function.
  • Minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor degree.
  • Knowledge of Oman’s customs rules and regulations.
  • Good English communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Basic knowledge of computing software, especially MS Office & Outlook.
  • Good work ethic and ability to comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Cultural awareness for working with people from various backgrounds.
  • Omani driving license will be considered an advantage.
