Job description

Supervise all field work of the area and ensure sufficient and suitable resources and equipment are available to complete all assigned activities correctly through the utilization of COMPANY workshop, Contractor Yard workshop, or external vendor repairs.

Role Summary:

Apply the approved standards, procedures, and schedules to ensure the reliability and integrity of the plant equipment and systems in the allocated area.

Contribute to the development of specific procedures, work instructions, repair plans, inspection and testing schedules, and ensure compliance.

Assist in developing the maintenance plan by providing work scope details and required resources, and ensure the implementation of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on relevant equipment. All work history and data should be entered into the CMMS system.

Responsible for delivering qualitative work on mechanical equipment, ensuring correct installation, testing, and proper specification and selection.

Mentor mechanical technicians to help Oman nationals become competent technicians.

Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with QHSE policies and procedures.

Perform alignment work using laser alignment equipment and dial gauges.

Carry out flange tightening by hydraulic torquing and tensioning methods.

Be aware of portable equipment inspection requirements.

Supervise up to 10 mechanical technicians, welders, and pipe fitters.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Minimum 12 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within the petrochemical/oil and gas or power generation industry, with at least 5 years as a mechanical supervisor.
• Degree/HND or diploma in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
• Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking) to IELTS level.
• Competent with computers, including Word, Excel, and Windows.
• Robust knowledge of various process equipment.
• Experience with pipes, gaskets, bolting, and overhauling equipment such as pumps, fans, blowers, and reciprocating compressors.
• Strong leadership skills to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Trained and certified in lifting and sling operations up to PIC level.
• Knowledge of spare parts identification and management.
