A leading company in the Oil & Gas sector is seeking a Manager Reporting & Analysis to lead financial reporting and performance analysis. The role involves overseeing financial performance, developing financial dashboards, and engaging with stakeholders to provide critical financial insights. Candidates should have strong analytical skills and a background in finance with significant experience in financial reporting and data visualization.
Job purpose
Lead the Group s financial reporting and performance analysis function by delivering accurate, timely, and insightful reporting to internal management, the Board, and shareholders. The role is responsible for overseeing the financial performance of all operating companies, driving digitalization, ensuring data integrity, and supporting strategic decision-making through analytics and performance monitoring.
The position will act in accordance with the Group s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
• Lead the end-to-end process of financial performance reporting across the Group, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and transparency.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive financial and performance dashboards for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
• Prepare integrated Group-level reports based on financial control data and operational inputs.
• Coordinate and consolidate financial reporting from all group entities, providing guidance and support to finance teams across the organization.
• Ensure alignment between financial goals and business performance metrics.
• Prepare executive-level presentations and insights for the Board, highlighting key trends, risks, and action items.
Performance Management
• Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of financial and operational performance across the Group s portfolio.
• Utilize forecasting, variance analysis, and prescriptive analytics to identify opportunities for performance improvement.
• Drive benchmarking initiatives to identify gaps and guide the organization toward top quartile industry performance.
• Collaborate with business units to align performance with strategic financial goals and KPIs.
Data Governance & Digital Transformation
• Champion the development and maintenance of a centralized, robust financial and operational data repository.
• Lead the digitalization of performance reporting through modern BI tools and business dashboards.
• Uphold data integrity, quality standards, and governance frameworks to support reliable decision-making.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations, and business unit heads, to gather, validate, and communicate critical financial insights.
• Present and discuss key financial and operational performance issues with executive management and the Board.
• Facilitate cross-functional initiatives aimed at addressing underperformance or unlocking new value.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
• Lead and mentor a high-performing team responsible for reporting and analysis.
• Identify and execute special projects to resolve performance bottlenecks or operational inefficiencies.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in financial reporting and analysis practices.
• Support change management initiatives, including new systems, tools, and process improvements.

External: Shareholders, Advisors & Consultancy companies
Notable Working Conditions: Office environment, intensive computer screen use, sporadic visits to operation site.
Education requirements
• Minimum qualification is a bachelor s degree in finance, Economics, Management, or equivalent.
• Master s degree or professional certification like MBA, ACCA, CFA is a plus.
Language
• Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required)
Background and experience
Competencies and skills
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in financial reporting, planning, or performance analysis, preferably in the Oil & Gas or Energy sector.
• Proven experience in leading reporting functions across complex group structures.
• Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP) and data visualization and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Strong understanding of IFRS standards for financial reporting and consolidation.
• Strategic Thinking & Business Acumen - strong understanding of how financial performance links to broader business strategy.
• Strong financial and analytical acumen with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights for executive decision-making
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills - sharp analytical mindset with the ability to dissect large volumes of data and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Proactive in identifying performance gaps and proposing corrective actions.
• Attention to Detail - high level of accuracy and rigor in reporting and financial analysis. Ability to ensure data integrity and completeness in consolidated reports.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting financial insights to senior management, Boards, and shareholders.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration and executive leadership.
• Ability to adapt to evolving business needs and technological advancements.
• Ability to prioritize competing demands and deliver results under pressure.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals.
