Role overview

As a Business Tax Manager at Deloitte, you will lead a team in providing comprehensive tax advisory and compliance services to our clients. You will play a crucial role in managing client relationships, delivering exceptional client service, and leading projects to ensure tax compliance and optimize tax strategies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a broad client base in various industries and a chance to contribute to a dynamic and growing tax practice.

Key responsibilities
  • Client engagement and relationship management:
    Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and provide tailored tax solutions.
    Lead client meetings and facilitate discussions to deliver valuable tax insights and strategies.
  • Tax compliance and advisory:
    Oversee the preparation and review of complex corporate tax returns to ensure compliance with local and international tax laws.
    Provide expert advice on a broad range of tax issues, including corporate tax advisory, restructuring, and mergers & acquisitions.
  • Research and analysis:
    Stay abreast of developments in local and international tax legislation and assess their impact on client businesses.
    Analyze complex tax regulations to identify opportunities for tax planning and risk mitigation.
  • Leadership capabilities:
    Acts as a role model, embracing and living our purpose and values, and recognizing others for the impact they make.
    Develops high-performing people and teams through challenging and meaningful opportunities.

Qualifications
  • Qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, ADIT, CPA, etc.)
  • 6+ years of general tax experience, preferably with at least five years focused on international, regional, and national taxation.
  • Experience with a Big 4 firm, law firm, or large corporate tax department of a multinational company is required.
  • In-depth, first‑hand experience of a wide range of industries.
  • Significant experience in corporate tax, including advisory and compliance.
  • Excellent research skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent in English (reading, speaking, and writing). Preference will be given to bilingual candidates (Arabic/English).
  • In-depth knowledge of tax and business laws and regulations.
  • Excellent project management and presentation skills required.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
  • Prior work experience and knowledge of Oman taxation will be an added advantage.
