Job summary

Carmeuse Group in Oman seeks an experienced Maintenance Engineer to develop and administer autonomous, preventive and predictive maintenance programs and review inspection checklists regularly.

You will lead CMMS and predictive activities, support TPM Focus Improvement, analyze KPIs, and coordinate with operations to improve reliability while controlling costs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and administer the autonomous, preventative and predictive maintenance programs and review inspection checklists regularly.
• Select, implement, train and support CMMS and related systems.
• Coordinate vibration, oil, NDT, ultrasonic and infrared analyses and other predictive maintenance activities.
• Support the Focus Improvement Pillar of the TPM program.
• Review information systems to assess maintenance program performance using KPIs.
• Assess installed equipment for maintainability and proper documentation.
• Review repair history and costs to decide repairs, rebuilds, or corrective maintenance.
• Ensure PM services are timely and meet standards.
• Lead root-cause analysis for equipment failures.
• Manage equipment history records for work orders and environmental compliance.
• Interface with Maintenance and Operations to schedule inspections and repairs.
• Conduct studies to increase reliability while reducing costs.
• Recommend modifications or replacements to improve reliability.
• Contribute to CAPEX project reviews with improvement suggestions.
• Help develop standards for major jobs, procedures and resources.

Job description

General responsibilities

• Develop and administer the Autonomous Maintenance, the Preventative and Predictive Maintenance program and review on a regular basis the quality of inspection checklists and their frequency.



• Select, implement, train and support the systems (CMMS,…) .


• Coordinate and participate in vibration analysis activities, oil analysis, non-destructive testing, ultrasonic activities, infrared activities and all other advanced detection activities as required (Predictive Maintenance Activities).


• He is the support person in the Focus Improvement Pillar of the TPM program.



• Constantly review the information systems to ensure their adequacy and use them to review key performance indicators assessing the adequacy of the maintenance programs.

  Maintenanceresponsibilities



• Assessment of installed equipment to ensure maintainability, parts, maintenance, instructions, prints, adequacy of design and installation works.


• Review repair history and costs to determine repair, rebuild, overhaul, or corrective maintenance needs.


• Review the PM services to ensure that they are conducted on time and according to standards.


• Review equipment inspection deficiencies uncovered, as a source of corrective maintenance and routinely lead failure analysis teams to determine root causes of failures or problems.


• Manage equipment history records in order to provide feedback for work orders, information for preventative and predictive maintenance activities and to provide environmental compliance assurance documentation.


• Interface with Maintenance and Operations to schedule and prioritize inspections and repair work and identify equipment problems, which may impact negatively the process.


• Conduct studies needed in order to increase equipment reliability while reducing maintenance costs.


• Recommend modifications or replacements in order to increase reliability.



• Make improvement suggestions when reviewing proposed CAPEX or major maintenance projects.

  Budget responsibilities




• Help to develop standards for individual major jobs, procedures for performingwork, cost level and the quantity of resources used.




• Periodically make cost-benefit reviews to determine the actions which have to be made or bought.




• Record and analyze reports from all maintenance activities in an effort to ensure that all necessary repairs are planned and executed prior to deterioration of equipment and to maximize equipment reliability, make use of available resources and minimize costs.

• Whenever possible get production personnel involved in doing inspection and lubrication tasks.
