We are seeking an experienced Logistics Incharge to oversee and manage all aspects of export and import operations. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless international shipping processes, compliance with customs regulations, cost-effective logistics planning, and excellent vendor and team management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all export and import operations including transportation, documentation, and customs clearance.
- Coordinate with international suppliers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers for timely delivery of shipments.
- Ensure compliance with global trade regulations, tariffs, and customs procedures.
- Prepare and handle all customs documentation and liaise with customs brokers and government authorities.
- Develop and implement efficient logistics strategies balancing cost and delivery timelines.
- Select appropriate transportation modes (sea, air, road, rail) for shipments.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and logistics service providers, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance.
- Collaborate with sales, procurement, and warehouse teams to align shipments with business needs.
- Oversee inventory management related to international shipments and bonded warehouses.
- Identify risks in logistics operations and proactively resolve shipment issues and delays.
- Manage logistics budgets, negotiate rates, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and generate performance reports for management.
- Lead and develop a logistics team, fostering a productive and cooperative work environment.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients on shipping status and issues, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in export and import logistics management.
- In-depth knowledge of international logistics, customs regulations, and trade compliance.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with risk management and mitigation in international logistics.
Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based with frequent visits to warehouses, customs offices, and shipping terminals.
- Possible international travel to suppliers, customs officials, and partners.
- Flexibility to work outside regular hours as needed to manage urgent shipments and resolve issues.
