Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Oman is seeking a logistics professional to plan and coordinate complex material movement, module transportation, and project cargo shipments.

You will partner with project teams, procurement, construction, and clients to ensure timely delivery, safe lifting, efficient customs handling, and accurate reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop logistics plans for material movement, module transportation, and project cargo shipments.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities for fabrication projects.
• Plan transportation routes, lifting arrangements, and shipment schedules for oversized and heavy-lift cargo.
• Liaise with project teams, procurement, construction, and clients to ensure logistics requirements are met.
• Monitor receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials within the yard.
• Coordinate with warehouse and inventory teams for material availability.
• Review lifting studies, transport studies, and load-out procedures.
• Coordinate export/import documentation and customs clearance activities.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs authorities, and port operators.
• Coordinate logistics contractors, transporters, and freight forwarding agents.
• Ensure compliance with L&T HSE standards and company procedures.
• Prepare logistics progress reports and shipment status reports.

Job description

Logistics Planning & Coordination

• Develop logistics plans for material movement, module transportation, and project cargo shipments.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities for fabrication projects.
• Plan transportation routes, lifting arrangements, and shipment schedules for oversized and heavy-lift cargo.
• Liaise with project teams, procurement, construction, and clients to ensure logistics requirements are met.

Material Management

• Monitor receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials within the yard.
• Coordinate with warehouse and inventory teams for material availability.
• Ensure proper tracking and documentation of materials and project cargo.
• Manage logistics records and inventory movement reports.

Heavy Lift & Load-Out Operations

• Support planning and execution of module load-out activities.
• Coordinate transportation of fabricated modules from yard to jetty or project site.
• Review lifting studies, transport studies, and load-out procedures.
• Coordinate with marine contractors, transport agencies, and heavy-lift service providers.

Shipping & Customs Coordination

• Coordinate export/import documentation and customs clearance activities.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs authorities, and port operators.
• Ensure compliance with Oman customs regulations and project requirements.
• Track shipments and provide status updates to stakeholders.

Vendor & Contractor Management

• Coordinate logistics contractors, transporters, and freight forwarding agents.
• Monitor contractor performance, cost, and service quality.
• Verify logistics invoices and support cost control measures.

HSE & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with L&T HSE standards and company procedures.
• Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks, and logistics safety reviews.
• Ensure all transportation and lifting activities are executed safely.
• Support incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare logistics progress reports and shipment status reports.
• Maintain records of transportation schedules, delivery notes, and customs documentation.
• Develop logistics dashboards and KPIs for management review.
