Job description

The Lifeguard is a support position within the Recreation Department. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and clean pool and beach environment. The candidate must be customer service oriented, able to provide hotel information, and assist with recreation rental equipment. The Lifeguard must work outdoors in high temperatures and supervise pool guests for safety.

General Responsibilities
  1. Communicate professionally and tactfully with guests, suppliers, and colleagues.
  2. Provide information about the hotel’s facilities and services.
  3. Keep your supervisor informed of matters affecting your work or the hotel’s reputation.
  4. Maintain a neat appearance according to grooming standards.
  5. Be flexible with job responsibilities and work areas as needed.
  6. Support and assist guests, colleagues, and suppliers.
  7. Keep the environment tidy and well-maintained.
  8. Be punctual and reliable.
  9. Ensure safety and security in all hotel areas.
  10. Report any irregularities or incidents.
  11. Ensure colleagues follow hotel rules and that their accommodations are secure.
  12. Perform tasks assigned by your manager.
  13. Know emergency procedures for situations like fire, flood, or bomb threats.
  14. Comply with the Employee Handbook standards.
  15. Follow all reasonable instructions from your supervisor.
  16. Report incidents, accidents, and guest complaints during briefings.
Technical Skills
  1. Pool cleaning
  2. Adjust signage
  3. Arrange sun beds, mattresses, and side tables
  4. Check and empty dustbins
  5. Open umbrellas
  6. Monitor pool, sea, and ambient temperatures
  7. Ensure no one is inside the pool during supervision

  12. Perform CPR

  18. Follow bad weather procedures
  • Minimum education: Senior School qualification or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of lifeguard experience
  • Previous experience in a 5-star hotel is an advantage
  • CPR/Lifeguard certification
  • Strong swimming skills for rescue
  • Friendly attitude and guest-focused mindset
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Good stamina and physical strength
