Job summary

Gender in Oman–Muscat seeks a Lead Data Management for Upstream Operated Assets. The role focuses on owning data management standards, handling vendor/government data interfaces, and developing AI tools to optimize cost and production. Strong English, 8+ years in IT and data disciplines required.

You will drive governance, data stewardship, and data strategy, collaborating with subsurface and engineering teams to maximize data value across assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or engineering, subsurface preferred.
• English proficiency in reading, writing and speaking.
• 8+ years in IT and relevant business disciplines.
• Experience with Documentum D2.
• Experience with WebGIS.
• Experience with machine learning and AI.
• Ability to work with large datasets and live data sources.

Responsibilities

• Interface with vendors to receive, QC, store and publish well, log and reservoir data.
• Interface with Government to maintain relevant databases for Planning & Performance.
• Develop AI and ML tools to optimize cost, production and other streams.
• Govern data stewardship and governance frameworks; ensure data quality and accountability.
• Contribute to upstream data strategy and governance initiatives across assets.
• Promote data management awareness through training and knowledge sharing.

Job title Lead Data Management Grade 7 Stream Operated Assets Function Subsurface & Operation 60&48- Subsurface Data Management Location Oman - Muscat Budget control *OPEX and/or CAPEX and/or Revenue amount as relevant* Reporting to Manager Data Management Direct reports n/a Job purpose Provide strong technical support on Data Management at Upstream Operated Assets - Planning & Performance, under Manager Data Management scope s, acting expert owner of Data Management standards, by:(1) Interface and lead the interactions with specialized vendors to receive, QC, store and publish the relevant Well, Log and Reservoir data, (2) Interface with Government to maintain the relevant databases; in order to support Planning & Performance team to attain business goals, (3) Develop AI and machine learning tools to optimize cost and production and other critical streams, (4) Use data science to analyze the data and work closely with the subsurface and engineering technical teams on this analysis The position will act in accordance with the Group s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives. Main tasks and responsibilities Execute end-to-end process for the maintenance of all existing Subsurface Databases Execute end-to-end process for well and reservoir data in share drives Work with Vendors to receive, QC, store and publish the relevant Well, Log and Reservoir data Ensure and participate in the development and implementation of the upstream technical data operating model/data frameworks (i.e. governance, quality, etc.)/guidelines, roadmaps / data standards / best practices while maintaining the highest standards of data quality, accessibility, extraction and connectivity to the upstream Petro technical applications. Define and govern the data stewardship for the company upstream technical data to ensure compliance with data governance, enhance data quality and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company data assets. Participate in the development of the upstream technical data strategy, governance initiatives/activities (policies, procedures, structures, roles and responsibilities) to serve the upstream data users across OQEP and to maximize the upstream technical data full potential. Promote across the organization awareness of general data management principles through knowledge sharing channels like awareness sessions, training, etc. Develop and execute data science projects using machine learning and other data science analysis techniques Work with vendors on new technologies related to data analysis and AI Key interactions Internal: Upstream External: Specialized Contractors, Technical committees, Ministries Notable Working Conditions. Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor s degree in computer science/information technology/ or engineering preferably in subsurface discipline, postgraduate degree is preferable.
