Key Job Responsibilities
  1. Apply standard operating procedures within the department.
  2. Plan, supervise, and perform maintenance and preventive maintenance of IT equipment.
  3. Demonstrate solid knowledge of all IT systems.
  4. Coordinate with contractors for technical issues beyond control.
  5. Manage network, server, backup, and related IT infrastructure.
  6. Manage firewalls, remote desktop, and related security systems.
  7. Maintain licensing and inventory records for software and hardware.
  8. Complete PC setup and deployment for new colleagues using standard hardware, images, and software.
  9. Maintain and develop IT systems for hotel rooms, Food & Beverage, banqueting, etc.
  10. Maintain IT systems software and hardware.
  11. Perform daily backups of hotel core data and system files.
  12. Coordinate with suppliers for procurement, repairs, and troubleshooting of hardware and software.
  13. Perform routine system checks to prevent unauthorized software installations.
  14. Initiate actions to correct hazardous situations and notify supervisors of potential dangers.
  15. Comply with the company's corporate code of conduct at all times.
  16. Install, maintain, and upgrade hotel IT systems in accordance with Barceló standards.
  17. Assist in managing daily IT department operations.
  18. Evaluate and recommend IT solutions to support hotel operations.
  19. Ensure regular data backups and proper backup maintenance.
  20. Maintain the security, structure, and integrity of hotel networks and systems using Barceló protocols.
  21. Liaise with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide solutions.
  22. Provide training and support to staff on new systems and technologies.
  23. Perform tasks assigned by the Supervisor or Department Head.
Desired Candidate Profile
Job Requirements
  • Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Ability to understand IT network diagrams and network design.
  • Knowledge of IP networks, subnets, Active Directory, DNS, Wi-Fi usage, and SSID configuration.
  • Good knowledge of Windows server, printing, and scanning systems.
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, and software applications.
  • Expertise in hotel operating systems (Opera PMS, SUN, Micros / Symphony, SAP, Bayan, Call accounting, etc.) and troubleshooting skills.
