Job summary

Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of experience in investments, private equity, corporate finance, or related fields.
  • Fluency in English is essential; Arabic is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Office with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Job Purpose

To lead and execute investment origination, business development, and strategic partnership initiatives, supporting investment opportunities from initial identification and assessment through due diligence, structuring, approval, and execution within a lean and execution-focused investment environment aligned with national priorities.

Roles and Responsibilities
1. Business Development

Lead and actively drive business development initiatives, including identifying, originating, and pursuing investment and strategic partnership opportunities locally and internationally. Engage directly with companies, OEMs, technology providers, suppliers, and strategic partners to explore investment, localization, co-development, and partnership opportunities. Evaluate and prioritize opportunities based on strategic fit, commercial viability, financial attractiveness, and execution potential, and actively drive their progression from initial engagement through to execution. Build, review, and update financial models, including valuation, return analysis, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis, to support robust investment decision making. Prepare high-quality investment materials, including investment memoranda, business cases, management and committee papers, and presentations, clearly articulating the investment rationale, key assumptions, financial returns, risks, and recommendations.

2. Transaction Execution & Negotiations

Lead and support transaction execution workstreams, including deal structuring, valuation and financial analysis, transaction negotiations, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Actively participate in negotiations with counterparties and drive opportunities toward successful execution. Work closely with legal, financial, technical, and other relevant advisors to review and finalize transaction documentation, ensuring alignment with agreed commercial terms, investment objectives, and approved transaction parameters. Maintain momentum across all transaction stages by proactively managing timelines, follow-ups, and stakeholder coordination.

3. Due Diligence

Lead and coordinate commercial, financial, technical, legal, and operational due diligence activities across investment opportunities, ensuring alignment with internal guidelines and strategic objectives. Critically review analyses, challenge key assumptions, and identify risks, gaps, and value drivers to support robust and well-informed investment decisions. Work closely with stakeholders to ensure due diligence findings are clearly articulated, appropriately validated, and effectively incorporated into transaction structuring and decision-making. Ensure timely progression of due diligence activities, proactively addressing issues and maintaining momentum across all stages of the evaluation process.

4. Synergies Coordination & Maintenance

Build and maintain strong relationships with key government entities, shareholders, portfolio companies, strategic partners, and other relevant stakeholders to support investment origination, execution, and value creation. Identify and drive potential synergies across investments, portfolio companies, strategic partners, and national initiatives where relevant. Maintain alignment with national economic diversification objectives and relevant strategic initiatives, supporting the development and de-risking of investment opportunities.

5. Project Management

Manage and track investment opportunities and projects against agreed milestones, timelines, budgets, and decision gates, maintaining a centralized view of progress across the investment pipeline. Identify critical path activities, dependencies, risks, and potential delays, and proactively coordinate with relevant stakeholders to resolve bottlenecks and maintain execution momentum. Organize and lead regular progress reviews, ensuring clear ownership of actions and timely escalation of matters requiring management attention or decision. Prepare regular project and opportunity status reports, highlighting progress, key challenges, upcoming milestones, and recommended actions. Apply appropriate project management practices to ensure efficient execution and effective coordination across internal teams, external advisors, and counterparties.

6. Portfolio Companies Support

Support portfolio companies and strategic initiatives, where applicable, in developing and executing strategic and value creation objectives aligned with corporate priorities, shareholder expectations, and relevant national objectives. Provide analytical and execution support to enhance performance and achieve targeted outcomes.

7. Asset Management

Support value creation initiatives across executed investments, monitor investment performance against approved objectives and business plans, and support the appropriate exercise of shareholder rights and reserved matters. Implement appropriate project management of transactional activities to ensure that the execution is within budget and agreed timelines. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to support ongoing monitoring and value creation across investments and strategic initiatives.

8. Investment Governance & Reporting

Ensure investment opportunities progress through the appropriate governance and approval processes in accordance with applicable policies and delegated authorities. Prepare and coordinate investment recommendations, management papers, committee submissions, Board materials, and supporting analysis as required. Maintain appropriate documentation and decision records throughout the investment lifecycle.

9. Policies & Procedures

Comply with the implementation policies and procedures, to ensure that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements are fulfilled.

10. Health, Safety & Quality

Comply with all relevant health, safety, and quality requirements, in order to guarantee employee safety and legislative compliance.

11. Continuous Improvement

Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices considering leading best practices , improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Desired Candidate Profile
  • Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, or another relevant discipline.
  • Professional Qualifications: CFA, CAIA, CMA, CPA, FMVA, FRM, or equivalent professional qualifications are preferred but not mandatory.
  • Work Experience: 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in investments, private equity, corporate finance, investment banking, transaction advisory, corporate development, or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in investment execution, industrial or strategic investments, financial modelling, transaction management, and project management.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is essential. Fluency in Arabic is advantageous.
  • Computer skills: Proficiency in MS Office is essential (especially Excel and PowerPoint). Experience with business related software is desirable.
