About the Company

Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country's crude oil production and natural gas supply.

Purpose of the Job

To articulate high-level, look-ahead plans for proactive exploitation and development of appropriate Telecommunications and Computing Infrastructure in support of all aspects of PDO business at all locations.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Communications Engineering, Information Systems or related area

  • 4+ years IT experience within a mid to large sized technology environment
  • Experience working with customers & service providers in a demanding corporate environment.
  • Experience with developing and implementing business & technology strategies
  • Preferably with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in return on investment costing & analysis, risk management, performance monitoring & project management.
Main Responsibilities
Portfolio Planning
  • Capture, challenge and rank IM&T Infrastructure demands (Telecom, Computing, Surveillance, Multimedia, end user computing, Collaboration, Networking and Mobility) and provide input to the program build.
  • Provide relevant portfolio inputs to Infrastructure plans for presentation to the IDD SG.
  • Manage the Infrastructure Capex, monitor expenditure performance and report into finance budget reviews (cost reports, do-ability, rephasing).
  • Liaise with Enterprise Architect for all EA related matters.
Technology Planning
  • Conduct and manage feasibility studies and PoC for new technology deployments.
  • Conduct market intelligence, promotion and marketing of new technologies.
  • Develop, and maintain IM&T infrastructure engineering standards in accordance to GU-611 technical standards (PDO Guide to Engineering Standards and Procedures).
  • Develop and maintain standards for infrastructure engineering.
Contracting and Procurement
  • Manage and act as Contract Holder for relevant infrastructure Frame Agreements.
  • Prepare tender documents for Infrastructure Price Agreements.
  • Lead tender delivery, clarification meetings and technical bid evaluations.
HSE Management
  • Adhere to the requirements of the HSE management System as specified in the CP 122 as HSE – MS Procedure and items cascaded from this document by the team leader.
