Responsibilities

• Care for plants in the growth facility.
• Prepare soil for experiments and apply appropriate fertilizers.
• Daily inspection of growth chambers and report pest/disease issues.
• Collect and transport transgenic waste to greenhouse and assist in decontamination of soil and tools.
• Sterilize growth chambers after each experiment.
• Assist in growth facility maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure project work has proper approvals and safety trainings.
• Assist in facility assets, inventory management and replacement planning.
• Record inventory of supplies and assist in procurement.

Role

Responsible for plant care in plant growth facility

Responsible for soil preparation for different experiments including treating the soil with appropriate fertilizers

Daily inspection of growth chambers and reporting issues, if any including pest and disease problems

Regularly collect and transport transgenic waste to greenhouse, and assist in decontamination of used soil, plants, washing of used reusable supplies

Sterilization of growth chambers after completion of each experiment

Assist in growth facility maintenance and repair works

Regularly checking and audit all the project work being conducted in the plant growth facility has proper approvals including safety trainings.

Assist in plant growth facility assets, inventory, management and replacement planning

Record inventory of growth facility supplies and assist in procurement of parts and supplies

Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee’s knowledge, skills and abilities in the field of his/her position
