Job summary

A leading global energy company is looking for a Gas Insulated Switchgear Specialist to join their Technical Services Division. The role requires providing specialized technical support regarding high voltage equipment, ensuring safe operations, and maintaining standards. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and at least 10 years of GIS experience. This full-time position will be based in Saudi Arabia and involves on-site technical guidance and compliance assessment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university, advanced degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of operations and maintenance experience directly working with GIS.
• In-depth knowledge and experience as a GIS specialist, including international engineering memberships.
• Background in oil and gas, utility, or equipment manufacturers is a plus.
• Professional Engineering certifications such as chartership or PE is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform root cause analysis on critical equipment failures to determine underlying causes.
• Assess maintenance programs for high voltage equipment to identify areas for improvement.
• Provide technical expertise to support maintenance of existing equipment.
• Offer technical guidance on repairs and evaluate equipment designs.
• Provide engineering input on repair details and offer onsite technical support.
• Review company standards and ensure compliance with international standards.
• Provide technical training and guidance to stakeholders.
• Demonstrate an active role in the commissioning of GIS technology.
