Trading as OUA Travel, dnata’s travel presence in Oman boasts over 50 years of expertise in the market. Currently ranked first among the Travel Management Companies in the Sultanate. Our areas of expertise range from leisure holidays, corporate travel management, airline and land GSA, car rental, cruise handling and many more services.

As a General Manager, you will lead the development and execution of the business’s long-term strategic plan to drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share. You will oversee all commercial, marketing, and operational activities, including service offerings, product development, and the IT roadmap. Acting as a key representative in high-level negotiations, you will identify and pursue growth opportunities aligned with dnata Travel’s overall strategy.

In this role, you will

  • Develop and drive the long-term strategic plan to achieve business growth and profitability, aligned with dnata Travel's global strategy.
  • Collaborate with IT and shared services to define the Business Technology roadmap supporting business objectives.
  • Design and optimize the organizational structure and delivery model to meet strategic goals.
  • Establish an annual sales plan aligned with the dnata Travel budget, identifying new and growth clients by source market and projected sales volume.
  • Lead product strategy to ensure market relevance and brand differentiation.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Communications to align and execute marketing activities that support brand growth and sales objectives.
  • Maintain global benchmarks on pricing, margins, and revenue to ensure profitability.
  • Define and implement brand performance objectives; drive initiatives to grow the brand and expand into new verticals.
  • Promote a culture of open communication, accountability, collaboration, and performance as part of the dnata Travel Management Team.
  • Set performance objectives for direct reports and ensure alignment throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Represent the business at key stakeholder forums, including trade events, supplier initiatives, Emirates Group forums, and industry bodies.
  • Accountable for revenue, profitability, budget management, and optimal use of resources (overhead, manpower, and capital expenditure).
  • Oversee the Product Strategy to govern pricing, inventory (bed requirements), and experience design across segments.
  • Ensure adherence to dnata Travel and Emirates Group governance standards; lead the implementation of relevant policies across the business.

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience in general management or sales/business development within the travel industry.
  • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience, preferably in bed banks or sales/commercial roles.
  • Proven ability to organize, delegate, and complete work effectively in a multinational, multicultural environment.
  • Experience working in multiple overseas locations preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the global travel industry, consumer behaviour, and competitor landscape.
  • Extensive network of travel industry contacts worldwide.
  • Solid understanding of distribution channels, travel technology, and platform solutions.
