Aesthetic Nurse - Dermatology

The Aesthetic Nurse will assist the Dermatologist in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of skin conditions. Responsibilities include assisting in skin exams, assessing patients' conditions, recording medical histories, and following up with patients.

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Will be primarily focused on chemical peels, facials, and lasers (non-ablative lasers).
2. Strong experience with state-of-the-art machines (such as HydraFacial, silk peel dermal fusion, clear and brilliant laser, carbon laser, forma by Inmode, and micro needling).
3. Be familiar with actions in urgent situations (anaphylaxis, shock, etc.); should be able to assist the doctor in case of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
4. Able to provide customized services and treatment to patients (with the guidance of Dermatologist/Cosmetologist).
5. Skills in filling medical documentation, writing forms/PC. Also able to take before/after patient photos, gather, and maintain patient cards and histories.
6. Client care/safety is always a priority.
7. Be able to perform preventive and therapeutic measures prescribed by a cosmetologist.
8. Skilled in carrying out aesthetic cosmetic procedures, such as facial cleaning, comedo extraction, facial massage, meso-rollers, etc.
9. Take care of the cosmetologist's working place, prepare the equipment for work, monitor its safety and serviceability.
10. Should be able to prepare clients for procedures (cleaning the working area, applying anesthesia, assisting during the procedure), and monitor the patient's condition during the procedure.
11. Provide infectious safety for patients and medical personnel, meet the requirements of infection control, and be familiar with aseptic and antiseptic rules.
12. Experience in Phlebotomy would be an advantage.
13. Have comprehensive knowledge and awareness of safe practices, initiating and leading clinically safe practices within the Clinic team.
14. Have a comprehensive knowledge and deep understanding of psychosocial issues that impact persons with skin diseases/conditions.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university or equivalent as per Oman Ministry of Health guidelines.
2. Diploma/Certificate in any skin care treatments like Cosmetology will be an added advantage.
3. State-of-the-art/latest machine handling certificates are preferred.
4. Minimum 5 years of continuous work experience in the domain of dermatology and/or cosmetic/aesthetic dermatology.
5. Attention to detail in the performance of skin exams and recording of patients' medical histories and test results.
6. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
7. Must be able to speak English. Fluency in spoken Arabic would be an advantage.
8. Pleasant personality with a smile.

10. Should display a professional approach with impeccable integrity, dependability, and a strong desire to work in a trust-based and team-driven environment.
