Job summary

Central Bank of Oman seeks a competent Expert/Executive in Fintech and Digital Banking to support the Digital Banks/Banking Department and the Directorate of Regulations. You will help formulate policies, frameworks, and initiatives to advance Fintech integration and a digital ecosystem in the financial sector.

The role focuses on aligning digital initiatives with international standards, promoting AI, blockchain, APIs, and CBDCs, while assessing regulatory risks and coordinating with regulators

Qualifications

• Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Finance, IT, Economics, Commerce and Fintech certifications.
• Additional professional qualifications in Banking and Finance/ Fintech from an accredited institution.
• Strong understanding of Fintech trends, Digital Banking models, and emerging technologies (e.g., AI, blockchain, APIs, CBDCs).
• Hands-on experience in Central Banks, regulating/supervising, policy developments of financial institutions.
• 10 years of relevant experience in banking, financial technology, or digital transformation.

Responsibilities

• Formulating policies, regulations, and frameworks to govern Fintech solutions relevant to banking and innovative payment systems.
• Ensure alignment of digital initiatives with the best international standards and practices while addressing local market needs.
• Develop policies promoting adoption of fintech solutions, including AI, ML, and big data analytics.
• Review requests from banks and non-bank financial institutions related to Digital services and cloud solutions, and provide regulatory recommendations.
• Assess risks of Fintech adoption and develop regulatory frameworks to safeguard financial systems.
