Job summary

Indian School Bousher is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to support the Finance Manager in overseeing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate accounting and timely reporting in compliance with Oman regulations.

The role requires 8+ years post-qualification experience, a CA qualification (attested by OACPA), and strong knowledge of ERP systems and Excel. You will help manage budgets, audits, and financial controls within a dynamic organization.

Qualifications

• CA qualification mandatory and attested by Oman Association of Chartered Public Accountants (OACPA).
• Strong accounting knowledge including financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliation, and internal controls.
• Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience in Finance & Accounts.
• Good working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; ability to work independently and with internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Finance Manager in managing the day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
• Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers and accounting entries.
• Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow, bank transactions and reconciliations.
• Perform regular bank and ledger reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial planning activities.
• Monitor income and expenditure against budgets and highlight variances.
• Ensure timely processing and verification of invoices, payments, receipts, journals and other transactions.
• Assist in maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial policies and regulatory requirements in Oman.
• Coordinate with internal departments regarding financial documentation, budgets, payments and accounting matters.
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing required schedules and supporting documents.
• Maintain proper documentation and records for audit and compliance purposes.
• Review financial data for discrepancies and unusual transactions.
• Prepare financial analysis and reports using Excel and ERP systems.
• Ensure timely and accurate posting of financial transactions in the ERP system.
• Support Finance Manager in improving financial processes, controls and reporting systems.
• Supervise and guide finance/accounts staff when required.
