Weatherford is seeking a Field Specialist III to independently execute and supervise complex field operations at the well site. You will be the primary technical interface with clients, ensuring service quality, equipment readiness, and HSE compliance.

You will perform downhole tool operations, troubleshoot issues, review BHA designs, and mentor junior staff while supporting cement cleanout and pre-completion activities onshore/offshore. This role requires travel and strong field leadership.

Qualifications

The Field Specialist III is responsible for independently executing and supervising field operations using advanced techniques, procedures, and criteria to deliver Weatherford products and services safely and effectively at the well site. The role serves as a primary technical interface with clients and is responsible for ensuring service quality, operational excellence, equipment readiness, and compliance with Weatherford and client standards.

Job Overview

The Field Specialist III is responsible for independently executing and supervising field operations using advanced techniques, procedures, and criteria to deliver Weatherford products and services safely and effectively at the well site. The role serves as a primary technical interface with clients and is responsible for ensuring service quality, operational excellence, equipment readiness, and compliance with Weatherford and client standards.

The Field Specialist III is expected to perform complex downhole tool operations, troubleshoot technical issues, conduct engineering and operational checks, and provide technical guidance to junior field personnel. The role requires strong expertise in Wellbore Productivity and Downhole Tools, including wellbore cleaning, PBL operations, liner top testing, negative testing, and completion-related applications.

The position will specifically support operations involving negative test packer assemblies combined with WBCO (Wellbore Cleanout) tools for cement cleanout applications and pre-completion operations.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute field operations, including tool inspection, function checks, measurements, BHA preparation, job execution, and post-job reporting.
  • Independently operate and run Wellbore Productivity and Downhole Tools in accordance with approved work instructions and operational procedures.
  • Prepare and review BHA (Bottom Hole Assembly) designs based on well conditions, job objectives, and client requirements.
  • Execute and supervise wellbore cleaning and PBL operations, including preparation and deployment of WBCO assemblies.
  • Run negative test packer assemblies combined with WBCO tools for cement cleanout applications and pre-completion operations.
  • Perform liner top testing, packer setting, negative testing, cleanout, and related completion operations as required.
  • Support cement drill-out, casing cleanout, tubing/casing pickling, circulation, and displacement operations.
  • Conduct pre-job and post-job tool inspections and ensure all equipment is properly prepared, tested, and documented before deployment.
  • Oversee field jobs at client locations, ensuring operational excellence, technical quality, and HSE compliance.
  • Troubleshoot downhole tool and operational issues and provide appropriate technical solutions during field operations.
  • Monitor job parameters and operational data and recommend technical solutions or improvements when required.
  • Maintain accurate records of pipe tally, BHA/completion components, tool dimensions, critical fishing dimensions, and other job-critical information.
  • Complete all job-related documentation accurately and within required timelines, including client tickets, job logs, utilization sheets, WPTS entries, job reports, and invoicing documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior Field Specialists and field personnel.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, rig personnel, operations teams, and management throughout the job lifecycle.
  • Provide 24-hour on-call support as required to meet customer and operational requirements.
  • Ensure all equipment, facilities, and work areas are maintained in a safe, clean, and operational condition.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to improve service quality, efficiency, and equipment reliability.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor within the physical constraints of the role.
Skills
  • Advanced hands‑on knowledge of Wellbore Productivity and Downhole Tools.
  • Strong experience with WBCO (Wellbore Cleanout) tools and PBL operations.
  • Proven ability to run negative test packer assemblies combined with WBCO assemblies for cement cleanout and pre‑completion applications.
  • Strong knowledge of liner top test tools, packer systems, cleanout assemblies, and multifunctional circulating tools.
  • Ability to prepare and review complex BHA designs and execute downhole tool operations.
  • Strong understanding of completion and wellbore preparation operations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot downhole tools and operational challenges independently.
  • Strong wellsite supervision and client‑facing skills.
  • Excellent understanding of well control and safe operating practices.
  • Strong time management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong documentation and post‑job reporting capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in challenging field environments.

Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of relevant oilfield experience, preferably in Wellbore Productivity, Downhole Tools, Completions, or Well Intervention.
  • Proven experience executing complex field operations involving downhole tools.
  • Demonstrated experience with wellbore cleaning, PBL, WBCO, cement cleanout, and pre‑completion applications.
  • Experience running negative test packer and WBCO combined assemblies is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience with major operators such as Saudi Aramco, BP, or other international oil companies is an advantage.
  • Valid IWCF Supervisor Level and/or IADC WellCAP certification is preferred.
  • Previous drilling, completion, or workover experience is highly desirable.
  • Must be willing to work onshore/offshore, travel as required, and support rotational or on‑call field operations.
