Job summary

GE Vernova FieldCore is seeking a Field Intern to learn the fundamentals of turbine and generator products under supervision. After health and safety training, you will work with field supervisors and engineers on diverse engineering projects and assist with site activities.

Ideal candidates are engineering students who will return to their studies after the work term, with strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Students pursuing Engineering majors (Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Software, Systems).
• Open to current students who will resume studies after the work term.

Responsibilities

• Learn fundamentals of Turbines and Generator product lines and complete required EH&S training.
• Develop skill in Field Core web-based applications.
• Perform site work with direct instruction and supervision.
• Learn basics of project management, scheduling, and cost control to support field team.
• Assist the Service Manager and Field Engineers to plan jobs and expedite parts orders for outages.
• Provide remote and on-site support and communications to FieldCore team.
• General admin support to Ops team and receiving customer calls.
• Expedite short-notice purchasing and shipping for overhaul jobs.
• Organize activities and logistics; travel may be required.
