Position: Exhibitions & Market Research Director
Reports To: CEO
Overview
The Exhibitions & Market Research Director will oversee the development of all company exhibitions, including strategy implementation, ecosystem dynamics, portfolio management, stakeholder relations, budgets, and profitability. The role involves developing two new exhibition profiles for Oman and expanding the company's exhibition brands regionally, especially in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The director will ensure each event aligns with the company's overall objectives while meeting individual goals related to sustainability and growth. Focus areas include achieving KPIs, process optimization, consistency across events, and driving growth in quality, revenue, profit, and market reach, in line with departmental strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Oversight of Exhibitions Portfolio:
a. Oversee multiple exhibitions, ensuring strategic alignment and identifying synergies for efficiency and growth.
b. Collaborate with the CEO to develop and implement long-term strategies for the exhibition portfolio. - Event Development & Coordination:
a. Supervise research, planning, and execution of events including conferences, awards, and ecosystems.
b. Maintain branding, attendee experience, and exhibitor satisfaction standards.
c. Work with event managers to ensure quality standards are met. - Team Leadership & Development:
a. Lead and mentor exhibition managers and key personnel.
b. Promote professional development and training. - Revenue Strategy:
a. Develop strategies to increase revenue through sponsorships, exhibitor participation, and other streams.
b. Work with sales and marketing to identify new opportunities and expand exhibitor and sponsor bases.
c. Analyze market trends for pricing and new product development. - Marketing & Promotion:
a. Oversee marketing strategies for the portfolio, ensuring visibility and audience engagement.
b. Coordinate campaigns across digital, social media, print, and email.
c. Manage relationships with media partners and industry publications. - CRM & Database Management:
a. Oversee CRM development for stakeholders.
b. Ensure effective data segmentation for targeted marketing.
c. Utilize CRM data for lead generation and engagement. - Digital Applications:
a. Oversee development of apps and digital tools to enhance attendee and exhibitor experience.
b. Collaborate with IT to integrate features like schedules, maps, and networking.
c. Monitor performance and improve app functionalities. - Operational Management:
a. Implement best practices for managing exhibitions.
b. Allocate resources efficiently.
c. Develop and oversee budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.
d. Report financial performance to the CEO. - Payment Processes:
a. Establish efficient payment collection processes.
b. Monitor payment statuses and resolve issues.
c. Promote secure and user-friendly payment systems. - Market Expansion:
a. Identify and lead new exhibition launches in regions or sectors.
b. Analyze industry trends for competitive advantage. - Stakeholder Engagement:
a. Build and maintain relationships with clients, sponsors, and exhibitors.
b. Serve as main contact for major stakeholders. - Post-Event Evaluation & Continuous Improvement:
a. Lead evaluations and feedback collection.
b. Develop strategies for ongoing improvement. - Market Research & Business Development:
a. Oversee marketing of research offerings.
b. Manage sales and client retention.
c. Ensure quality of proposals and reports.
d. Lead presentations to secure contracts.
