Job summary

Larsen & Toubro is seeking an Inspection professional to ensure fabrication, installation and testing of offshore equipment comply with project specs, approved drawings and client requirements. The role covers static and rotating equipment, with focus on preserving and storing equipment to prevent rust and environmental damage.

The candidate will review vendor documents, MRBs, MIRs and related inspection records, and participate in verification of ITPs and procedures at the offshore yard.

Qualifications

• Inspect fabrication, installation and preservation of static equipment, pumps, compressors and other rotating machinery.
• Review and implement approved ITPs, Method Statements, and Procedures.
• Review vendor documents such as datasheets and Manufacturing Records Books (MRBs).
• Preservation and storage of equipment including rust prevention and environmental protection.

Responsibilities

• Inspect fabrication, installation and preservation of static equipment (vessels, tanks, heat exchangers) and rotating equipment (pumps, turbines, winches).
• Inspect packages and skids such as HVAC units and diesel generators.
• Review and implement ITPs, Method Statements and Procedures during inspections.
• Conduct incoming material inspections and ensure conformance.
• Review and approve Material Inspection Reports (MIR) and inspection checklists.

Job description

To ensure that all static and rotating equipment fabricated, installed, and tested at the offshore fabrication yard comply with project specifications, approved drawings, applicable codes/standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Inspection of Mechanical Equipment

• Inspect fabrication, installation, and preservation of:
• Static Equipment: Pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, separators
• Rotating Equipment: Pumps, compressors, turbines, winches
• Packages & Skids: HVAC units, diesel generators, lifting equipment skids

2. Inspection Activities & Testing

• Review and implement approved ITPs, Method Statements, and Procedures
• Conduct inspections during:
• Incoming material inspection

3. Vendor & Data Book Review

• Review vendor documents such as:
• Datasheets and drawings
• Manufacturing record books (MRBs)

4. Quality Control & Documentation

• Review and approve:
• Material Inspection Reports (MIR)
• Inspection reports and checklists

5. Preservation & Storage

• Ensure proper preservation and storage of equipment:
• Rust prevention
• Environmental protection
