Job summary

Renardet SA & Partners seeks a Senior Environmental Specialist to lead EIA projects, ecological assessments and GIS-driven analyses in Oman. You will coordinate field surveys, produce EMPs and environmental reports, and ensure regulatory compliance across GCC frameworks.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in environmental discipline, 10+ years in environmental consulting in GCC, and fluency in English (Arabic an advantage); Oman Society of Engineers membership is mandatory.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Specialist to join our multidisciplinary consulting team. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in environmental engineering, ecological conservation, and geospatial analysis. They will conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) as a team member, conduct intensive terrestrial/marine field visits, and utilize advanced GIS, remote sensing, and environmental modeling tools to deliver regulatory-compliant solutions.

• Key Responsibilities EIA and Regulatory Compliance: Preparing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Environmental Management Plans (EMP), and Environmental Performance Reports in strict compliance with regional frameworks and international guidelines.
• Field Surveys and Ecological Assessments: Plan and execute comprehensive ecological and biological field visits to assess wildlife habitats, biodiversity, and sensitive ecosystems (flora and fauna).
• Geospatial Analysis: Utilize GIS and Remote Sensing platforms to produce high-quality environmental baseline maps, habitat classifications, and land-use analysis datasets.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline (Master’s is a plus).
• Membership with the Oman Society of Engineers is obligatory.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in environmental consulting or engineering within the GCC region, preferably in a similar role.
• Proven track record in executing EIA studies, wildlife/biodiversity tracking, and ecological baseline monitoring.
• Advanced proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS Pro / QGIS), Remote Sensing analysis tools, and industry-standard Environmental Modeling software.
• Strong physical capability and willingness to manage and conduct rigorous outdoor field investigations across diverse desert, mountain, and coastal.
• Fluent in written and spoken English with excellent report-writing capabilities. Proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
