Job summary

Hyatt Hotels Corporation is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to join our hotel maintenance team. The role focuses on supervising the operation, preventive maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to ensure safe and reliable hotel facilities.

The position requires a Diploma or technical qualification in Engineering and at least 2 years of supervisory experience, with the ability to manage work orders, schedule staff, and supervise contractors.

16. Carry out all professionally reasonable instructions given by your supervisor

17. Supervise and participate in the maintenance, repair, installation and operation of steam, water, sewer, air and gas utilities and equipment as well as laundry, kitchen, heating plant, air conditioning and ventilation systems; supervisee and participate in the maintenance and repair of trucks, lawnmowers, automotive and power drive equipment

18. Monitor and supervise the work of contractors performing services on utility projects

19. Supervise and perform metals parts machining and processing utilizing power driven equipment such as lathes, milling machines, shapers and drill presses

20. Supervise and participate in metal fabrication and repair work involving the use of welding equipment; review drawings and/or sketches and determine methods fro performing requested work

21. Plan and schedule work for the group ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate staffing, space and facilities for subsequent performance of duties

22. Assist in development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs for mechanical equipment and facilities

23. Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations and/or conclusions

24. Train and instruct new team member in department.

25. Recommend various personnel actions including, but not limited to hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules

26. Estimate time, cost and amount and type of lumber and supplies required for projects; requisition lumber and supplies required

27. Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with blueprints, specifications, instructions and applicable federal, state and local order; direct any rework or modification

28. Conduct periodic inspections of the hotel buildings and facilities to determine repair needs; establish and coordinate programs of preventive maintenance

29. Successfully develops and implements short term and small-scale projects. Accurately estimates and request resources required to successfully achieving goals

30. Consistently sets high standards of quality. Team members demonstrate commitment to provide quality service, establishes and monitors procedures designed to measure quality, and recommend improvements based on experience and feedback obtained

31. Report any unusual finding or safety hazards immediately to the Chief Engineering

32. Successfully complete Training Certification Process and review all department safety information (i.e. JHA’s and MSDS’s), practice emergency procedures in compliance with standards. Reacts and assist in hotel emergency situation if necessary 33. Understand and practice hotel emergency fire procedures

33. Perform all other engineering related duties assigned by the Chief Engineer. Offer lateral service to internal/external customer when available

34. Learn, understand and energize Alila Villa Uluwatu Standard

Technical Expertise

1. Collect and distributes works order to the appropriate section and ensure that his subordinates on shift duty are proficient to carry out their daily routines of operation

2. To complete all work orders, receive during his shift if possible and ensure that unfinished orders are properly handed over to the following shift for completion

3. At regular intervals, inspects and logs the working condition of equipment, machinery and engineering systems

4. In the event of any sign of abnormality or breakdown of engineering systems, he must cease the operation of that equipment and run the standby system, then inform his superiors of his action

5. Monitor and records utility consumption and assist the Assistant Chief Engineer to maintain efficiency

6. Trains and direct his subordinate in the correct operation of the equipment and machinery in his control

7. Trains and direct his subordinates in the correct operation of all emergency equipment i.e. fire protection panel and emergency generation equipment

8. To pass on his experience and skill to his subordinates in order to achieve a highly skilled and motivated team

9. To observe and practice safe working methods

10. To participate in the Hotel Emergency Team/Fire Brigade

11. To attend Life Safety instruction classes and any other Hotel training schemes

Environment Sustainability Responsibilities

1. Comply health, safety, security policies of the hotel

2. Having knowledge and ability to support environment friendly operational approach

3. Having knowledge and ability to implement Earth Check principles in his/her scope

Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Diploma or technical qualification in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or a related technical field.
  • Previous experience in Engineering or Maintenance within the hospitality industry or a similar environment.
  • Previous supervisory or team-leading experience is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of hotel building systems, preventive maintenance, and general maintenance practices.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and engineering standards and procedures.
  • Ability to diagnose technical issues and coordinate appropriate corrective action.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and shifts, as required by hotel operation
