Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. Financial Transactions & Bookkeeping

  • Record daily financial transactions including payments, receipts, journal vouchers, and adjustments.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate general ledger entries for the hospital unit.

2. Billing and Revenue Support

  • Support inpatient and outpatient billing processes.
  • Coordinate with billing and front office teams to ensure timely revenue capture and collection tracking.
  • Assist in reconciliation of revenue reports with the Hospital Information System (HIS).

3. Expense Management

  • Maintain and track departmental expense records and petty cash.
  • Verify vendor bills and support timely invoice processing and payment.
  • Assist in monthly closing activities including accruals and reconciliations.

4. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare and maintain financial data for internal MIS and compliance reports.
  • Ensure proper filing and organization of financial documents and audit trails.

5. Audit and Compliance Support

  • Assist in preparation for internal and statutory audits.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital finance policies and statutory requirements (TDS, GST, etc.).

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
  • 3 - 8 years of experience in a finance or accounting role (healthcare experience preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial documentation.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with accounting software (Tally, ERP, or hospital HIS preferred).
