An established industry player is seeking a seasoned project leader to oversee major gas supply projects. This role involves ensuring compliance with technical obligations, managing capacity expansion, and developing network plans. The ideal candidate will bring over a decade of experience in the oil and gas sector, showcasing strong leadership and strategic alignment skills. The position is primarily office-based but includes occasional site visits, making it a dynamic opportunity for professionals eager to drive operational excellence and promote safety standards in a collaborative environment.
Job purpose
Leading major projects and subcontracts related to assigned projects under the authority of the Head of Projects. Responsible for managing engineering, sourcing, logistics, construction, commissioning, maintenance, and management services within designated areas. Develop performance improvement plans to ensure availability and proper utilization of engineering tools and maintenance, supporting business continuity and efficiency.
The role aligns with the organization’s mission, vision, values, policies, and guidelines, supported by IT platforms, HSE standards, legal frameworks, and international best practices aligned with national objectives.
Mandate QHSSE Obligations
• Ensure compliance with the HSE Management System, regularly review and update it, and audit departments or projects for adherence.
• Monitor safety performance and KPIs, use data analytics for tracking.
• Promote safe behaviors, organize safety briefings, collaborate on safety protocols, and recognize safety excellence.
Mandate Culture Obligations
Represent the organization’s cultural principles, lead initiatives, promote behaviors, and support team growth.
Main tasks and responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end gas supply projects from processing to distribution.
• Ensure compliance with technical obligations and manage capacity expansion projects.
• Develop and approve network development plans and connection agreements.
• Lead assessments for operational projects, improve planning processes, oversee cost and budget controls, and ensure compliance with construction and safety standards.
• Manage operational readiness and assurance tasks.

• Internal: Gas Network staff
• External: Contractors, vendors, suppliers
Working Conditions
Primarily office-based with occasional site visits and travel.
Education requirements
Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
Language
Preferably English and Arabic.
Experience and background
12-14 years in project leadership within oil and gas sectors, managing technical functions and teams with proven HSSE, budget, and planning records.
Competencies and skills
• Strategic alignment, transparency, continuous improvement, sustainability, diversity, stakeholder engagement.
• Soft skills: leadership, time management, decision-making, interpersonal skills, communication.
• Technical skills: MS Office, engineering terminology, HSE regulations, risk management.
