Role Overview: Responsible for coordinating activities related to the Mechanical scope focus process and equipment of the project. Ensures the quality of detailed engineering, meeting project goals and critical paths, and supports the construction team with technical queries. The discipline leader will be responsible for communicating, monitoring, and overseeing other mechanical engineers to guarantee quality operations. Additionally, this role involves understanding project needs, quantifying requirements, and developing contracts.


Key Responsibilities include:

  1. Overseeing detailed engineering development in India, China, Brazil, etc.
  2. Overseeing manufacturing and quality controls before final shipments.
  3. Ensuring integration with other disciplines.
  4. Addressing operational needs, representing the project, and respecting governance.
  5. Communicating with different stakeholders.
  6. Managing communication across different nationalities and cultures.
  7. Optimizing mechanical activities to expedite project execution and reduce costs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Graduation in Mechanical Engineering with at least 15 years of professional experience.
  2. Advanced English proficiency and excellent communication skills.
  3. Previous experience working on capital projects.
  4. Experience with mining projects such as iron ore beneficiation, pelletizing, briquette plants (advantage).
  5. Experience with bulk material handling and slurry systems (pumps, pipes, agitators, tanks, settling tanks, etc.).
  6. Experience leading the Mechanical discipline during engineering development.
  7. Proficiency in developing Basic and Detailed engineering using Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  8. CAD proficiency; experience with BIM construction is a plus.
  9. Previous experience in Brownfield projects and construction experience is an advantage.
