Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Muscat is seeking a Duty Technician (Plumber/Fitter) to join the Engineering team and contribute to the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities, including plumbing and general mechanical services.

The role involves maintaining plant rooms, equipment, and systems, while upholding Fire, Life, Health, and Safety standards in a luxury hospitality environment.

• Experience in plumbing or fitting is beneficial for the position.

• Maintain, repair, check and record equipment relating to: Guest Facilities, Plant Rooms, Air Conditioning Equipment, Refrigeration Equipment, Fire, Life, Health, and Safety, Electrical and Mechanical Services, Plumbing and Heating.

Scope of Position

The Duty Technician is responsible for the daily operation of the engineering department and for ensuring that the department is operated in the safest and most efficient manner. The Duty Technician will assume the responsibilities of the Duty Engineer during his absence.

• Departmental:
• Maintain proper and safe condition of all Plant, Plant Rooms, Equipment and Work areas.
• Comply with all Fire, Life, Health, and Safety Standards.
• To be conversant with the Hotel Emergency Procedures.
• Perform Emergency Response Team duties as required.
• Personal presentation will be clean, neat, and tidy always.
• Be courteous, professional, and service orientated when dealing with Guest, Patrons, and Fellow Staff Members.
• Assist Guests, Patrons, and Fellow Staff Members as and when appropriate.
• Undertake specific duties and projects when assigned.
• Activity support Training Programs.
• To carry out work in accordance with The Hotel Planned Maintenance Program.
• Familiarize himself with the technical details of all Plant and Services relating to the Hotel.
• Work shifts as designated.
