Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Muscat is seeking a dedicated Houseperson to join our Housekeeping team. You will uphold impeccable cleanliness across guest corridors, pantries, offices and storages, supporting colleagues with linen delivery and ensuring efficient setup of pantries to delight guests.

In this role, you will handle guest requests promptly, maintain hygiene standards, assist with linen management, and collaborate with the laundry and room attendants during peak times to preserve a flawless guest

Qualifications

• Prior housekeeping experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork.
• Ability to follow safety and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the cleanliness of storage areas and back of house areas.
• Refills pantries with minibar items and conducts inventory controls.
• Ensures extra beds, baby cots and sofa beds are stored and set up correctly.
• Supports florists in delivering flower arrangements from storage to floors.
• Refills and organizes all guest supplies and amenities in storages and pantries.
• Receives and handles fresh linen and hands over dirty linen to the laundry company.
• Provides training for new starters, apprentices and trainees.
• Handles guest requests to ensure satisfaction and maintains a welcoming environment.

About The Job

To ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of all guest corridor areas, pantries, offices, and storage. To support colleagues with linen collection and delivery and to ensure that all pantries are set up for an efficient operation. To ensure that guest requests are fulfilled in a professional and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensures the cleanliness of storage areas, flower office, housekeeping pantries and back of house areas
• Refills all pantries with minibar items, follows the first-in-first-out process and carries out inventory controls
• Ensures that extra beds, baby cots and sofa beds are stored and set up correctly and in accordance with our standards
• Supports the florists in delivering flower arrangements from flower storage to the floors
• Refills and organizes all guest supplies and amenities in the storages and pantries
• Refills the housekeeping pantries and storages with fresh linen
• Responsible for receiving fresh linen and handing over dirty linen to the laundry company
• Supports the laundry, room attendants and public cleaning attendants in peak times
• Ensures a clean, comfortable, well maintained and welcoming environment
• Ensures all equipment and cleaning supplies are used correctly and in accordance with the local regulations
• Undertakes regular deep cleaning duties and inventory controls
• Provides a seamless, efficient and friendly service at all times
• Provides training for new starters, apprentices and trainees
• Handles all guest request to ensure satisfaction
• Complies to the hygiene and safety standards of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group
• Reports technical defects and missing room items
• Collects guests’ preferences
• Actively reviews processes and voices ideas and suggestions
• Completes department relevant administrative tasks
• Other reasonable tasks may be assigned by the direct manager or a senior manager on duty
