Scope of Position

The Duty Technician is responsible for the daily operation of the engineering department and for ensuring that the department is operated in the safest and most efficient manner. The Duty Technician will assume the responsibilities of the Duty Engineer during the Engineer’s absence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper and safe condition of all Plant, Plant Rooms, Equipment and Work areas.
• Comply with all Fire, Life, Health, and Safety Standards.
• Be conversant with the Hotel Emergency Procedures.
• Perform Emergency Response Team duties as required.
• Maintain personal presentation to be clean, neat, and tidy.
• Be courteous, professional, and service oriented when dealing with Guests, Patrons, and Fellow Staff Members.
• Assist Guests, Patrons, and Fellow Staff Members as appropriate.
• Undertake specific duties and projects when assigned.
• Support Training Programs and participate in activity-related training.
• Carry out work in accordance with the Hotel Planned Maintenance Program.
• Familiarize yourself with the technical details of all Plant and Services relating to the Hotel.
• Work shifts as designated.
• Maintain, repair, check and record equipment relating to: Guest Facilities; Plant Rooms; Air Conditioning; Refrigeration; Fire, Life, Health, and Safety; Electrical and Mechanical Services; Plumbing and Heating; Entertainment Equipment; Kitchens; Lighting; Furniture, Fittings and General Equipment.
• Actively support and assist the Duty Engineer.
