Description
Purpose of the Job

The Contract Lead is accountable for the end-to-end management of assigned digital transformation contracts, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of services aligned with business objectives. The role combines Exploration and Production (E&P) technical and domain understanding, and IT/Digital solutions with rigorous contract management discipline and a commercial mindset to maximize value from digital suppliers.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Computer, Chemical, or related), Geosciences, or a Business/Commercial discipline with strong technical exposure.
  • 10 years of experience in oil & gas operations, projects, or contract management.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in IM&T, with specific exposure to digital transformation or techno-commercial roles.
  • Practical experience managing Digital and IT contracts involving Hydrocarbon Maturation (HCM), cloud platforms, Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions, cybersecurity, and digital infrastructure.
  • Experience with Agile tools and industry-recognized project/contract management methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills to manage diverse stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
  1. Act as the single point of accountability for assigned digital contracts across the full lifecycle, ensuring compliance with company procedures, HSE standards, cybersecurity requirements, and ICV commitments.
  2. Develop and implement fit-for-purpose commercial strategies (e.g., lump sum, unit rate, outcome-based, managed services) aligned with project risk profiles. Lead the evaluation and negotiation of variations, change orders, and claims to optimize cost, protect value, and ensure contractual compliance.
  3. Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of Digital and IT contracts supporting Hydrocarbon Maturation (HCM), cloud platforms, Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions, cybersecurity, and digital infrastructure, ensuring commercial value, supplier performance, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
  4. Define and monitor digital KPIs, SLAs, and outcome-based performance metrics (e.g., system availability, data quality, user adoption, cybersecurity compliance). Conduct regular performance reviews, contractor audits, and continuous improvement sessions.
  5. Support and shape tendering strategies, including packaging, sourcing approach, and market engagement. Lead or contribute to the development of Terms of Reference (TOR), scope of work, and evaluation criteria, and actively participate in technical and commercial bid evaluations.
  6. Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual, operational, financial, and digital risks (including cybersecurity and data privacy). Maintain an active risk register and ensure mitigation and contingency plans are effectively implemented.
  7. Lead end-to-end contract lifecycle activities, including kick-offs, mobilization, execution oversight, integrated change control, and technical/commercial closeout. Ensure contract integrity, proper documentation, and capture of lessons learned.
  8. Act as the primary interface between business/end-users, digital/IT teams, and procurement/commercial functions to ensure alignment, clarity of requirements, and delivery of fit-for-purpose, scalable digital solutions.
  9. Ensure all contractors and deliverables comply with company HSE policies, regulatory requirements, cybersecurity standards, and internal audit controls. Support audit activities and ensure timely closure of findings.
  10. Enable adoption of innovative contracting approaches (e.g., agile, outcome-based, performance-driven models) to support effective digital transformation, ensuring flexibility to adapt to evolving technologies and business needs.
  11. Establish and maintain structured reporting and dashboards covering cost, performance, risks, and ICV metrics. Provide regular insights to management to support informed decision-making and proactive contract management.
