Job summary

Muscat University in Oman is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to support undergraduate practical programmes within the Faculty of Science and Technology. You will help deliver tutorials, labs and workshops across computing-related modules and provide hands-on assistance during sessions to help students grasp key concepts.

The role also involves assisting with marking, preparing teaching resources, coordinating with lecturers and staff, and supporting online platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Computer Science, Information Technology, AI, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or Software Engineering.
• Knowledge in programming, algorithms, networks, and security concepts.
• Good academic standing with a strong GPA.
• Programming skills in Python, Java, C# or similar; databases like SQL.
• Interest in teaching and mentoring, and willingness to support students.
• Practical computing skills relevant to the discipline.
• Clear and effective communication, teamwork and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tutorials, labs and workshops across computing modules.
• Provide hands-on support during labs to help students understand concepts and tools.
• Guide students in programming, databases, networking and security fundamentals.
• Assist in marking assignments, quizzes and coursework with timely feedback.
• Prepare teaching resources, presentations and lab materials.
• Coordinate with lecturers and technical staff to ensure smooth module delivery.
• Develop teaching and technical expertise while maintaining high-quality learning environment.
• Assist with attendance tracking and coordination of academic activities.
