Overview:
An internationally recognised energy organisation is seeking a CMIMS & Spare Parts Lead to support the development and operational readiness of their maintenance systems and spare parts strategies for a major LNG bunkering project in Oman. This position is pivotal in ensuring the integrity, structure, and usability of maintenance data within SAP (PM/MM modules), from project development through to ongoing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Phase
- Lead all Maintenance and Inspection Engineering (MIE) activities relating to CMIMS and spare parts.
- Oversee the configuration and deployment of CMIMS (SAP) and ensure full alignment with corporate standards.
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, vendors, and project teams to collect, validate, and structure technical and spare parts data (SPF-E, SPL-E, SPL-R).
- Drive the loading and validation of asset hierarchies, BOMs, and maintenance strategies into SAP PM/MM.
- Ensure readiness of all Spare Parts Maintenance Contracts (SMCs) before plant start-up.
- Collaborate in the development of digital tools and data workflows linked to CMIMS.
- Lead documentation efforts to integrate SECEs (Safety and Environmental Critical Elements) into maintenance databases.
- Conduct FATs/SATs for systems linked to CMIMS.
- Train warehouse, maintenance, and CMIMS users; ensure procedures and documentation are in place.
Operational Phase
- Serve as SAP key user; monitor performance, data integrity, and compliance.
- Maintain and continuously improve the CMIMS structure and database based on operational feedback.
- Monitor spare parts inventory, reorder levels, and procurement requests.
- Analyse data to support maintenance strategy refinement, performance monitoring, and KPI reporting.
- Lead initiatives to improve SAP/CMIMS usage and support troubleshooting across departments.
- Coordinate closely with warehousing and procurement to maintain stock accuracy and OPEX optimisation.
- Ensure maintenance data complies with internal policy, HSE standards, and national legislation.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Engineering degree (or Master's) in Computer Science or equivalent technical field
- SAP architecture/project experience a plus
Experience
- 10+ years in SAP PM/MM administration and optimisation
- Prior involvement in LNG or Oil & Gas projects
- Solid exposure to spare parts catalogue creation, warehouse coordination, and inventory control
Languages
- Full fluency in English (Arabic a plus)
