Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer for Crowne Plaza Resort Salalah in Oman. You will lead the Engineering & Maintenance team, oversee MEP systems, and ensure safety, efficiency, and exceptional guest experiences across all facilities.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering, strong GCC hospitality background, and a proven track record in senior engineering leadership within international hotels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Strong GCC experience in hospitality.
• Experience as Chief Engineer or similar in international hotel.
• Knowledge of MEP systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, BMS, fire & life safety.
• Strong leadership and budget/CAPEX understanding.

Responsibilities

• Lead the hotel Engineering & Maintenance team and ensure efficient daily operations.
• Maintain all hotel facilities, plant, equipment, MEP systems, guest rooms, and public areas to required standards.
• Develop and manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Ensure compliance with IHG standards, local regulations, fire & life safety requirements, and health & safety procedures.
• Manage energy conservation and sustainability initiatives while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets, CAPEX requirements, maintenance contracts, and engineering-related projects.
• Conduct regular inspections and ensure engineering issues are resolved promptly to support guest experiences.
• Lead, coach, train, and develop the Engineering team with a strong safety and teamwork culture.
• Coordinate with hotel leadership, contractors, suppliers, and authorities.

What do we need from you?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.

• Strong GCC experience is required, preferably within the hospitality industry.

• Previous experience as a Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, Director of Engineering, or similar senior engineering role in a reputable international hotel.

• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, BMS, fire & life safety systems, preventive maintenance, and energy management.

• Good understanding of hotel engineering operations, budgeting, CAPEX planning, project management, and regulatory compliance.

• Strong leadership, problem‑solving, communication, and team‑management skills.

• Experience within IHG or another international hotel brand will be an advantage.
