Responsibilities
  • Prepare a variety of baked goods such as artisan breads, rolls, croissants, muffins, doughs, and specialty items.
  • Ensure all baked products meet hotel quality and presentation standards.
  • Monitor baking processes and adjust time and temperature controls to ensure proper baking.
  • Assist in developing and testing new recipes in collaboration with the Pastry Chef or Executive Chef.
  • Supervise Commis Bakers and provide on-the-job training and support.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery section, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ensure mise-en-place is prepared and ready for daily operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist in placing bakery-related orders, and minimize waste.
  • Label and store baked products correctly, adhering to FIFO (First In, First Out) practices.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operation and timely service.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or certification in Bakery, Culinary Arts, or related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of bakery experience in a professional kitchen or hotel bakery environment.
  • Strong understanding of baking techniques, fermentation, proofing, and ingredient functionality.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP guidelines.
  • Ability to work early mornings and maintain punctuality.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
