Job description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Executive Chef and assume responsibility for the efficient operation of the culinary department.
  • Focus on rejuvenating the culinary experience continually.
  • Assess menus and wine lists regularly to ensure relevance and alignment with Eat With Six Senses practices.
  • Establish purchasing practices that meet the requirements of the Six Senses nutrition and sustainability platforms.
  • Promote a cost-focused philosophy through training and education.
  • Ensure the department operates in compliance with all legal, statutory, and financial requirements, including documentation, reporting, contractual obligations, security, safety protocols, communication standards, and budget controls.
  • Strictly adhere to LQA standards and guest feedback to maintain service excellence.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma in Culinary Arts or similar is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of kitchen experience in a full-service outlet or similar setting within luxury hotels, with proven results.
  • Knowledge of broiler equipment, meat and fish cookery, proficient knife skills, and understanding of farm-to-table concepts.
  • Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state regulations.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Ability to live in a remote location for extended periods and travel on single status.
