Job Description
- Liaise with Client representatives regarding catering requirements, menus, planning and related subjects.
- Evaluate client feedback and operational performance post-events to continuously improve catering offerings.
- Implement and enforce health and safety regulations in food handling and service to ensure compliance.
- Create detailed event budgets and monitor expenses to maximize profitability while maintaining high service quality.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as the primary point of contact from planning to execution.
- Lead and train catering staff, providing ongoing coaching to enhance service standards and efficiency.
- Conduct site visits to assess event venues and strategize on optimal layout and service flow.
- Manage inventory and procurement of food, beverages, and supplies, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee the logistics of catering events, including setup, service, and breakdown to ensure seamless execution.
- Design and execute innovative catering menus tailored to client preferences, dietary restrictions, and seasonal ingredients.
- Maintain and operate the contract according to established Company targets.
- Forecast material needs and raise Requisitions, plan schedules and work rotas.
- Motivate and train staff.
- Direct subordinates and staff performance.
- Conduct regular meetings with subordinates to discuss and resolve problems and enhance Company awareness.
- Ensure that staff under his control understand and comply with the laws and statutes of the Sultanate of Oman and the local customs and traditions.
- Ensure all documentation is compiled and authorised within the established time- frame.
- Protect and enhance the Company’s property and image.
- Ensure the implementation of all instructions issued by Management.
- Ensure the responsibility for the integrity and confidentiality of all documents and other information within the company and to ensure that no information is disclosed to unauthorised personnel.
- Observe and enforce the company’s Rules and Regulations and report any serious breach of these rules to immediate superiors.
- Ensure/carry out all works in strict and full compliance with Company HSE Plans, Policies, Procedures and to STOP any unsafe work immediately.
Desired Candidate Profile
similar position / role, in a reputed Industrial Catering Industry with Oil & Gas field experience in any GCC countries.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in catering or event management, showcasing a progressive career path.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field is preferred for foundational knowledge.
- Certification in food safety and sanitation is essential to uphold health standards in all catering operations.
- Experience in luxury or high-volume catering environments, demonstrating capability in managing complex logistics.
- Preference for candidates who have worked in diverse cultural settings to better cater to varied clientele.
- Fluency in English is required, with additional languages being a significant advantage in diverse markets.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster client relationships and lead a team effectively.
- Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple events simultaneously without compromising quality.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with physical stamina to manage event setups and long hours during events.
