Job summary

PPOAR in Muscat is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our construction team. You will measure, cut and fit wood components, read blueprints, and install frames, doors and fixtures on site.

The ideal candidate has proven carpentry experience, good math and measuring skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Fluent English is required; Arabic is a plus. We offer a full-time role with accommodation and visa sponsorship.

Carpenter

Our construction company in Muscat is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, such as building frameworks, partitions, doors, and windows.

Key Responsibilities

• Measure and cut wood accurately according to specifications
• Install structures and fixtures such as windows, frames, floorings, and trim
• Construct building frameworks including walls, floors, and door frames
• Read and interpret blueprints to determine materials needed for each project
• Repair or replace damaged or defective parts using hand tools or power tools
• Utilize various woodworking machines to cut, shape, and smooth wood pieces
• Inspect work pieces for defects and ensure they meet quality standards
• Adhere to safety regulations at all times

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role in the construction industry
• Skilled in working with hand and power tools used in carpentry such as saws, drills, sanders etc.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow technical plans
• Good understanding of math and measurements
• Physical stamina and manual dexterity to handle heavy materials and equipment
• Attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Fluent in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus)
