Job Purpose:
To deliver high-quality Business Studies and Economics education to secondary school students, fostering their interest in the subject and preparing them for formal assessments and real-world application. The teacher will support the overall academic, social, and personal development of students in line with the school’s vision and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Learning
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Business Studies & Economicslessons that meet curriculum standards (e.g., IGCSE, A-Level, BTEC, or equivalent).
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
- Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and enterprise skills.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes active student participation.
- Monitor and assess student progress through classwork, tests, coursework, and assignments.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain up-to-date lesson plans, schemes of work, and records of assessment.
- Curriculum and Assessment
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of the Business Studies curriculum.
- Prepare students for external examinations by delivering effective revision strategies and mock assessments.
- Support departmental moderation, internal verification, and standards verification processes where relevant (e.g., BTEC assignments).
- Use assessment data to track student progress and identify areas for intervention.
Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in departmental meetings, school events, parent-teacher conferences, and continuing professional development (CPD) sessions.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary projects and whole-school initiatives.
- Maintain high professional standards in attendance, punctuality, and dress code.
- Uphold school policies on safeguarding, behaviour management, health & safety, and data protection.

- Act as a form tutor and contribute to the pastoral care of students.
- Support the school’s enrichment programme, including clubs, enterprise competitions, and school trips.
- Promote and model the school’s core values in all interactions with students, parents, and staff.
Specific qualifications required for this role:
- Teaching Credential/License
