The main purpose of the Business Development role is to support the identification, development, and coordination of business opportunities that align with CDDC’s strategic goals within the Convention District. This includes assisting in market research, stakeholder coordination, proposal development, and supporting partnerships with operators, investors, and relevant entities. The role aims to ensure smooth execution of business initiatives while protecting CDDC’s commercial interests and enhancing its visibility and positioning in the market.
Responsibilities
- Strategic contribution
- Assist the Business Development team in identifying and evaluating new business opportunities that align with CDDC’s strategic direction.
- Support the preparation of business cases, presentations, and reports to aid in decision-making and stakeholder engagement.
- Contribute to market research and competitor analysis to help identify trends, potential partners, and commercial risks.
- Assist in the implementation of departmental policies and procedures to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance with standards.
People
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments (e.g., Finance, Legal, Sales & Marketing) to support business initiatives.
- Support knowledge-sharing within the team and engage with cross-functional teams to facilitate smooth project handovers and updates.
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to support business development objectives and communication flow.
Operational
- Coordinate and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including CDDC departments, hotel operators, investors, and service providers, maintaining professionalism and ethics.
- Assist in preparing and organizing business development materials such as proposals, presentations, MoUs, and partnership briefs.
- Support tracking and documentation of business leads, partnerships, and negotiations via internal tools or CRM systems.
- Conduct market research and compile data on competitors, trends, and investment opportunities to inform decision-making.
- Organize meetings, site visits, and workshops with potential clients or partners.
- Follow up on action items from meetings to ensure progress and alignment.
- Collaborate with Finance and Legal teams on proposals and contractual documents.
- Maintain awareness of project plans, stakeholder expectations, and priorities.
- Suggest process improvements to workflow and documentation practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Development Manager or leadership.
Education & Experience
Education: Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related field.
Experience: No prior experience required; on-the-job training will be provided.
