Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts is seeking a bartender for Crowne Plaza in Muscat to craft cocktails, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

You will maintain quality, operate bar equipment, and greet guests with professionalism, supporting promotional events and daily bar operations in a premium hotel environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; hospitality or bartending training is a plus.
• 1–2 years bartending experience in hotels, restaurants, or bars.
• Experience with international hotel brands is preferred.
• Knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to operate bar equipment and POS systems proficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in beverage preparation.
• Basic numeracy for handling cash and billing transactions.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written); additional languages are an advantage.

Job description

YOUR DAY TO DAY:

• Prepare and serve a wide range of cocktails, mixed drinks, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes.
• Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality for every drink served.
• Handle bar equipment and tools properly, including shakers, blenders, and coffee machines.
• Serve drinks promptly and courteously, providing personalized guest experiences.
• Customize beverages to meet guest preferences while maintaining standard quality.
• Greet guests warmly and engage to enhance their overall experience.
• Provide recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages and menu items.
• Handle guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests professionally and upscale when necessary.
• Foster a friendly, approachable, and professional environment.
• Monitor bar stock levels and communicate requirements to the Bar Supervisor or Assistant Bar Manager.
• Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating inventory according to standards.
• Minimize wastage and ensure proper handling of ingredients and supplies.
• Keep accurate records of usage and assist in preparing consumption reports.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, tools, and equipment at all times.
• Follow health, safety, and hygiene regulations in line with IHG standards.
• Clean bar counters, glassware, and utensils regularly to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Work closely with the Bar Supervisor, Assistant Bar Manager, and other F&B staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist with promotional events, themed nights, and special beverage menus.
• Support other bar staff during busy periods or special functions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting new drinks, recipes, or service enhancements

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational training in hospitality or bartending is an advantage.
• Minimum 1–2 years of bartending experience, preferably in hotels, restaurants, or bars.
• Experience with international hotel brands is highly preferred.
