Job Description

AFSC 2A3X2 Integrated Avionics Specialist or Equivalent: Achieve 7 skill level by performing or supervising functions involving installation, repair, testing, and modification of NAV Attack, Flight Controls Radar, SMS, Comm Nav, and ECM systems. Operate avionics systems using aircraft controls to determine operational condition.

Interpret equipment operating characteristics to isolate malfunctions in systems such as attack control, radar infrared, laser, instruments, displays, flight control, communication, navigation, satellite communications, identification, defensive and offensive ECM systems. Use technical data, wiring diagrams, electronic measurement equipment, AGE, and special tools.

Remove and install components. Perform and supervise alignment, calibration, and bore sight of avionics systems. Upload operational software into system components.

Inspect, analyze, and evaluate avionics systems. Interpret inspection findings and determine the adequacy of corrective actions.

Review maintenance management publications and procedures. Recommend methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance procedures.

Perform on-the-job training and instruction, supervise, and accept work performed by RAFO technicians.

Knowledge & Skills
  • Achieve 7 skill level in AFSC 2A3X2 F-16 Block 50 Integrated Avionics or equivalent.
  • Performed and/or supervised functions involving installation, repair, testing, and modification on all F-16 Block 50 Avionics.
Experience & Education
  • Minimum 5 years supporting F-16 Block 50 or equivalent; minimum 8 years supporting F-16 aircraft.
  • High school diploma required.
