Job summary

Gore Main School in New Zealand is seeking a certificated teacher to join our primary/intermediate team for Years 1–8 in 2027.

You will deliver across English, health and physical education, languages, mathematics and statistics, science, social sciences, technology, te reo Māori and the arts, while building strong relationships with tamariki and whānau.

Gore Main School is looking for an outstanding teacher to join our team in 2027. We are seeking someone with a strong understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum, a commitment to high-quality teaching and learning, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.

At GMS, we have a strong focus on structured literacy and structured mathematics. We have invested heavily in developing consistent, evidence-informed approaches across the school, including our use of the iDeal Structured Learning Platform for literacy and the Numicon Structured Maths Programme for mathematics. We are looking for a teacher who is excited about structured approaches, understands the importance of strong foundations in literacy and numeracy, and is keen to continue developing their practice alongside our team.

We want someone who will build strong, positive relationships with students and whānau, create a safe and engaging classroom environment, and bring energy, enthusiasm and high expectations to their teaching.
