Kaikohe Christian School in the mid-North of New Zealand is seeking a passionate Year 5–6 classroom teacher to join our team, starting 28 January 2027. We are a composite school (Years 1–13) committed to high-quality learning grounded in a biblical worldview.

The ideal candidate will hold current NZ teacher registration, have a solid understanding of the NZ Curriculum, and demonstrate effective classroom management while accelerating student achievement in literacy and numeracy.

The ideal candidate

• holds a current New Zealand teacher registration and has a strong understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum
• demonstrates effective classroom management and a proven track record of accelerating student achievement in literacy and numeracy
• is culturally responsive, relational, and enthusiastic about working within a diverse community
• possesses a willingness to contribute to the wider life of our school.

Special character requirements

A willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the school shall be a condition of appointment. The successful applicant will be expected to maintain, uphold, and positively contribute to the Christian character of the school.
