Overview

Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher Technology

Huntly Primary School is seeking a dynamic and skilled technology teacher to join our team in term 1, 2026. This role involves teaching technology to our own ākonga in Y7–8 as well as delivering engaging programmes to students from surrounding schools.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong subject knowledge and practical skills across a range of technology areas (such as digital, food, materials, or design technology).
  • Builds positive, respectful relationships with students, colleagues, and visiting schools.
  • Can inspire learners with hands-on, meaningful projects that develop creativity, problem-solving, and innovation.
  • Plans and delivers high-quality programmes aligned with the New Zealand Curriculum and local contexts.
  • Brings flexibility, excellent communication, and strong classroom management to ensure learning is engaging and inclusive.
  • Enjoys collaborating as part of a wider teaching team while also working independently.
