Maraekakaho School - More than just a country school

We are a thriving, semi-rural school in idyllic surroundings just 15 minutes from Hastings.

Maraekakaho is a PB4L school with a strong focus on core values, student achievement, and community-based learning, where children and teachers love to be.

We are seeking a passionate teacher to guide and extend our small Year 7/8 class as they prepare for their next step in education, starting Term 1 2026.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an energetic, dedicated teacher to build strong relationships and provide targeted learning experiences tailored to our students\' needs.

  • The ability to utilise structured programmes and innovative practices to support students on their self-directed learning pathway
  • Mentor student leaders, supporting them to run school-wide activities
  • Willing to help organise and lead outdoor education opportunities for our Y7–8s, including school camps
Qualifications/Attributes
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to build relationships with staff, students, whānau, and our wider community
