Job summary

Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children in Greymouth is seeking an administrative professional to support social work staff with data, scheduling, and reception tasks. You will liaise with vendors and stakeholders, coordinate rooms, and help with health and safety compliance, process financial plans, and maintain records.

The role is permanent, full-time, with a competitive remuneration package between $57,096 and $62,773 depending on experience.

• Be responsible for administration needs of Social Work staff including data collection and scheduling.
• Liaise with vendors, casual staff, and other stakeholders.
• Booking rooms, answering phones, and assisting on reception.
• Organise welcomes for newcomers and whānau and manage reception duties.

• Be responsible for administration needs of Social Work kaimahi including but not limited the following.
• assistance with financial plans, data collection and scheduling
• Liaise with vendors, casual staff, and other stakeholders
• Work with various cultural groups and people from different backgrounds
• Booking rooms, answering phones, and assisting on the reception desk
• Organising welcomes/whakatau for newcomers and whānau as and when required
• Deal with critical scenarios in a calm, professional manner

Key requirements of the role include:

• Full clean New Zealand drivers licence is required ( (historic convictions may be considered on a case-by-case basis)
• Support the team with all aspects of Health and Safety
• Have a strong computer and IT knowledge
• Admin skills such as typing, reporting, responding to Site needs
• cultural awareness and an understanding of Tikanga Māori principles
• a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
• Strong time management
• excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt to your audience
• Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
