Job summary

Jora New Zealand in Albany, Auckland is seeking a WordPress/Front-End Developer to build and maintain high‑performing sites. You will implement UI/UX designs, customize themes/plugins, and optimize SEO and UX. A 3+ year track record and a IT/CS degree are required; Mandarin is a plus, English proficiency essential.

Office-based role reporting to the Head of IT. Collaborate with product, marketing and design teams to deliver updates and enhancements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of WordPress or front-end development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/Software Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience with WordPress themes, plugins, hooks, and filters.
• Strong understanding of SEO-friendly site structure.
• Professional English; Mandarin is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the website using WordPress and PHP.
• Build responsive, high-performance web pages from UI/UX designs.
• Customize WordPress themes & plugins; write clean PHP code.
• Optimize website performance, speed, SEO structure, and user experience.
• Troubleshoot bugs, refine workflows, and improve site functionality.
• Work closely with product, marketing, and design teams to deliver updates.
• 3 + years of experience in WordPress or Front-End Development.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with WordPress themes, plugins, hooks, and filters.
• Understanding of SEO-friendly site structure.
• Professional English (written & verbal), Conversational Mandarin is a plus.
• Experience with Element, WPBakery, or building custom plugins.
• Experience in the financial industry.
• Knowledge of REST APIs & website integrations.
• Familiarity with hosting, DNS, and server environments.
